Al Sadr has been hiding in iran and he is tight with the iranian leadership. he pulled out of the fight for good political reasons and it has worked. I have predicted that he would run iraq since before obama was a candidate.
All of what I said is my own ideas.
on all of this you are just plain wrong. does growing up on chicago's south side in the 60's and 70's count as a war zone. i was too young for vietnam. darn. i missed out. I did have a lot of uniforms. none were military. peace.

Maliki could not have become the leader in iraq without the backing of al sadr. he is trying to break from hom now because maliki recognizes that al sadr has too much clout. 30,000 added troops was not the key. to believe it was ignores the politics inside iraq. peace.

Zombie fucking robots. Hot. Especially if it's Linnea Quigley in "Return of the Living Dead" and Daryl Hannah in "Blade Runner" doin' the fucking. As for the subject it is very true. Even the buddhists understood this when they invented the martial arts for self defense. It's still one big cluster fuck either way, regardless of the side you're on or neutrality you claim. No easy solutions.

The surge isn't working because there's no definition of victory in Iraq. What is it "working" to achieve? It's made things safer, but this war on "terrorism" is going to be a war of proxies for eternity. American resources will be wound down before we can "win." The point is that we don't need to be there. Also, learn what "blowback" is. Removal from the middle-east will make us safer.
