The real shame is that we have squandered our oil wealth and been left with no long term benefit. Norway has for the last 12 years been setting aside some of its oil revenue into a trust fund, currently it is worth some
£130 billion. Why didn't Brown do the same. Also he increased the tax from 10% to 20% on North sea oil firms in 2005.

well labour have been in power for over 10 years and what we have Prisons overcrowded unemploymnet rising tax rates high core industries gone Is a direct result of their policies. A brick works packed up last week. That factory had been in business over 100 yrs and made the high strength bricks for the Empire State building. Just gone not a word said.

Gordon Brown not more than a few weeks ago announced that lots of jobs would be created in the ..Yes wait for it... the Loft lagging industry. Cameron makes me laugh. He always goes too far when he is told to. Many politicians wouldnt like to be seen behaving the way he does. Which is why he was chosen to be leader of course. He has no friends. When you hear what people say about him from his schooldays you will see this is true. It is also easier to destroy something you don't have any affection for. Interestingly Robert Prestons article today( scary but worth reading) backs up Camerons fears over a tax give away. The cracks are starting to show in Browns Bail out with Labour MPs openly speaking out against him. I agree that Cameron has not been seen as verbose as he may have been but he has a strong team behind him. Incidentally I felt the Liberals have made some good proposals.
